Testimonials
Audience: Marketers, admins, and submitters
HighAdvocacy treats testimonials as a first-class category alongside reviews and social. Inside any campaign you can run up to two testimonial setups: one video testimonial and one text testimonial. Each can be activated or paused independently, and each routes its submissions into the same review queue as everything else.
Setup is intentionally narrow. There is no multi-card builder, no AI rewriting, no consent or trimming workflow, just a clear ask, a guided submission flow, and an automatic handoff to the Proof Library on approval.
Configure the display heading, the main question, optional detailed prompts, and the reward.
Video testimonialsConfigure the same prompt fields plus minimum and maximum character limits.
Text testimonialsHow star ratings, names, and emails are captured, and how legacy testimonials without ratings are handled.
Ratings and submitter detailsHow testimonials are configured
Open a campaign and go to the Strategy tab. The tab has three categories: Reviews, Social, and Testimonials. Inside Testimonials, the left panel shows exactly two items (Video Testimonial and Text Testimonial) and the right panel holds the form for whichever one is selected.
Video Testimonial fields, top to bottom:
- Display Heading: the main heading the customer sees.
- Question Shown to Users: the prompt the customer answers in their recording.
- Detailed Questions (optional): a multi-line list. Each non-empty line renders as a bullet under the main question on the collection page. Empty is a valid configuration.
- Reward Configuration: the same reward type and value pattern used elsewhere in the campaign.
Text Testimonial fields, top to bottom:
- Display Heading
- Question Shown to Users
- Detailed Questions (optional)
- Minimum Characters
- Maximum Characters
- Reward Configuration
For text testimonials, minimum cannot be greater than maximum.
What submitters experience
A submitter who opens a campaign with testimonials enabled sees the testimonial option alongside any review or social options. They:
- Pick the video or text path.
- Provide a star rating (1–5), a name, and an email, all required on new submissions.
- Read the main question and any detailed sub-prompts (rendered as a “Try answering” bullet list, guidance only, not separate fields).
- Record a video or write the testimonial body.
- Submit for review.
The marketer then reviews the submission like any other. Approved testimonials appear in the Proof Library automatically, with the star rating displayed on the proof card. Legacy testimonials without a rating render without the star row rather than showing empty stars.
Important rules
- One setup per type per campaign. You cannot add a second video testimonial card or a second text testimonial card to the same campaign.
- Star rating is required on new submissions. Submissions made on the redesigned collection page cannot complete without one.
- Submitter name is required on new submissions for both video and text. Email has always been required.
- No retroactive backfill. Older submissions are never re-prompted to add a rating or name.
