Review & Proof CollectionHow rewards work with verification

Verification is the gate

A reward only goes out after a submission is verified. Verification does not introduce a new kind of reward; it reuses the reward you already attached to the campaign. What changes is the path a reward takes after a submission passes.

Two things decide what happens: your reward-release policy and the reward’s delivery type.

Release policy: hold or automatic

Set at the workspace level in Settings > AI Verification (see Set up AI verification):

  • Hold for human approval (Human in loop) (default): when the engine verifies a submission, its reward does not pay out on its own. The verified reward waits in Rewards → Activity until a person releases it.
  • Release automatically on verified: the reward is queued for delivery as soon as a submission is verified, with no human step.

The policy applies to AI-verified submissions only. A reward you approve by hand always releases, whether the workspace is on hold or automatic. Manual approval has no hold.

Delivery type

Once a reward is released, how it reaches the advocate comes from the reward itself, not from verification:

  • Automatic (connection): fires through a connected integration and is delivered without a human step.
  • Manual by team: a person on your team completes the delivery.
  • None: there is no reward attached, so a verified submission is simply done.

Where verified rewards are released

Under the Hold policy, verified rewards collect in Rewards → Activity. That is where you release them, rather than from the submission itself. Once released, an automatic reward is delivered through its connection, and a Manual by team reward is completed by your team.

Under automatic release, this step is skipped: verified rewards are queued for delivery straight away.

For how the Activity list and reward connections work, see Rewards.

How it plays out

Putting policy and delivery together:

PolicyDeliveryWhat happens on verify
HoldAutomaticWaits in Rewards → Activity. Once released, it is delivered through its connection.
HoldManual by teamWaits in Rewards → Activity. Once released, your team completes delivery.
Automatic releaseAutomaticQueued for delivery on verify and delivered through its connection, with no human step.
Automatic releaseManual by teamQueued on verify, then your team completes delivery.
AnyNoneNo reward. The submission is simply verified.

A manual approval (AI off, or you overriding a verdict) always releases the reward on approve, then follows the same delivery path.
